What: Tallgrass Presents Oscar night at Heroes. FREE and open to the public.
Why: Don’t watch the Oscars alone! Join TFA to for a live telecast of the 84th annual Academy Awards – and watch with people who know good film (and appreciate good fashion!)
When: The viewing party begins at 5 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 26
5 p.m.: Green Carpet Arrivals
5:15 p.m.: Tallgrass Film Festival Shorts Program (featuring Oscar-nominated films from past Tallgrass Film Festivals)
6 p.m.: Red Carpet Pre-Show
7 p.m.: 84th annual Academy Awards
Where: Heroes Sports Bar & Grill, 117 N. Mosely, in Oldtown. The event is free and open to the public.
Wear: Dress down or dress up! Prizes will be awarded for the most creative, Hollywood-inspired “costumes.”
Win: “A Weekend at Tallgrass X”: Attendees may participate in an Oscar pick ’em (suggested donation $10). The grand prize winner wins a weekend at the 10th annual Tallgrass Film Festival including two VIP TALLPasses ($350), two nights at the Hotel at Waterwalk ($300), plus dinner at Heroes, bicycle rental from Bicycle X-Change and much more! Two runners up will each receive a pair of passes to VI to X, the mini Tallgrass Film Festival event on April 21.
Whet: Your appetite with food specials including 25-cent wings, Tallgrass Brewing Company Specials: Halcyon, Oasis, IPA and Velvet Rooster ($4) or these specialty Hammer + Sickle cocktails Midnight in Paris, The Descendant, The Artist and The Iron Lady ($4).
